So after months of waiting the day finally came for my first evening class, Yipee!!
I’m so thrilled to finally be on my journey to being a qualified Nail Technician. So although it was incredibly theory heavy I was soooooo happy to be there!
My first class went a bit like this
- Introductions & Class Rules
- Course Overview & Weekly Breakdown
- Health & Safety
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Setting up a Client/Consultation
- Filling Demonstration
Now for anyone in the Nail Tech and/or Beauty industry, that was the equivalent to the first 106 pages of Mariam Newmans ‘The Complete Nail Technician’
Yes, Really! I wasn’t kidding when I said it was theory heavy. The advantage to that is no more theory!! (at least not that much in one class) Hurray 🙂 we are pretty much practical learning now till the end of the course, the dis-advantage…… I’m not so good with A&P so additional revising I think it will be for me 😦
The scary thing is the rate at which the course moves!! Eek. We will pretty much have learnt everything by Christmas then practice, assessment, exam, practice, assessment,exam, practice, assessment, exam, practice…. you get the picture, all the way till summer……
My course consists of the following;
- Nail Art
- Liquid and Powder Application, aka Acrylics
- Gel, and no not the polish type
And then of course all the usual theory as and when applicable.
So that’s it, my first evening, now on to practicing my filling……
