Under nail Nail Art

A lot has been mentioned in the press this week regarding the launch of Christian Louboutins’ undernail nail polish, see here for an article written by Forbes magazine regarding the launch of ‘Loubi under red’ You have to admit the colour is pretty stunning! Slightly gutted I myself wont be able to divulge in buying it.

What got me though was I was sure I’d seen this ‘art’ before. So after scoring the internet and racking my brain, I decided I wasn’t going to find what I was looking for and went back to studying for college…. And there it was! The image I was looking for!

Underside nail art may be at the forefront of peoples mind now but the Nail Guru Marian Newman was ahead of the years when she came up for this design for the May 2008 (Yes thats right, MAY 2008!) Scratch Magazine cover. And look what else we see…. the iconic Louboutin! For her design she has clashed Hot pink against the red and then used silver leaf for the underside.

So for 2014 who else has been doing Flip Mani’s. The following is a selection of images I’ve found for underside nail art.

I myself like the idea of a Flip-Mani, I remember a couple years ago having a bright pink painted underneath, with a french Manicure on top! Strict Work & School rules about nail art? Maybe this is the nail Trend for you? 🙂 x
